When measuring blood pressure at home, a different limit applies

In Germany, around one in three adults has high blood pressure. Experts refer to high blood pressure as a systolic value of 140 and a diastolic value of 90; in short, 140/90 mmHg. If the disease remains undiagnosed, it can lead to serious cardiovascular diseases.

However, at the doctor's office one is generally more tense than at home, which has an effect on blood pressure. So while in the doctor's office the limit is 140/90 mmHg, at home it is 135/85 mmHg. One should always record the results of the measurements.
